Abide - Adar I - 28, 5774

"Do not love the world
or the things in the world.
If anyone loves the world,
the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world - the
lust of the flesh,
the lust of the eyes, and
the pride of life - is not
of the Father but is of the world.
And the world is passing away,
and the lust of it;
but he who does the will of God abides forever.
Little children, it is the last hour;
and as you have heard
that the Antichrist is coming,
even now many antichrists have come,
by which we know that it is the last hour.
They went out from us,
but they were not of us;
for if they had been of us,
they would have continued with us;
but they went out
that they might be made manifest,
that none of them were of us.
But you have an anointing from the Holy One,
and you know all things.
I have not written to you because you do not know the truth,
but because you know it,
and that no lie is of the truth.
Who is a liar but
he who denies that Jesus is the Christ?
He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.
Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either;
he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning.
If what you heard from the beginning abides in you,
you also will abide in the Son and in the Father.
And this is the promise that He has promised us - eternal life."
I John 2:15-25

One Thing - Adar I - 27, 5774

"One thing I have desired of the LORD,
that will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD
 all the days of my life,
to behold the beauty of the LORD,
and to inquire in His temple.

For in the time of trouble
He shall hide me in His pavilion;
in the secret place of His tabernacle
He shall hide me;
He shall set me high upon a rock."
Psalm 27:4-5

"Wait on the LORD;
be of good courage,
and He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!"
Psalm 27:14

"Trust in the LORD, and do good;
dwell in the land, and
feed on His faithfulness.
Delight yourself also in the LORD,
and He shall give you
the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the LORD,
trust also in Him,
and He shall bring it to pass,
He shall bring forth your righteousness
as the light,
and your justice as the noonday."
Psalm 37:3-6

"And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you.
He will be with you,
He will not leave you nor forsake you;
do not fear nor be dismayed."
Deuteronomy 31:8

A Living Hope - Adar I - 26, 5774

Blessed be the God and Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who according to His abundant mercy
has begotten us again to a living hope
through the
resurrection of Jesus Christ
from the dead,
to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled
and that does not fade away,
reserved in heaven for you,
who are kept by the
power of God
through faith
for salvation ready to be revealed
in the last time.
I Peter 1:3-5

Inheritance - Adar I - 25, 5774

 "Then one from the crowd said to Him,
'Teacher, tell my brother
to divide the inheritance with me.'
But He said to him,
'Man, who made Me a judge
or an arbitrator over you?'
And He said to them,
'Take heed and beware of covetousness,
for one's life does not consist
in the abundance of the things he possesses.'"
Luke 12:13-15

my inheritance and my cup;
You maintain my lot.
The lines have fallen to me
in pleasant places;
Yes, I have a good inheritance."

Why? - Adar I - 24, 5774

"Why do the wicked live and become old,
Yes, become mighty in power?
Their descendants are established
with them in their sight,
And their offspring before their eyes.
Their houses are safe from fear,
Neither is the rod of God upon them.
Their bull breeds without failure;
Their cow calves without miscarriage.
They send forth their little ones like a flock,
And their children dance.
They sing to the tambourine and harp,
And rejoice to the sound of the flute.
They spend their days in wealth,
And in a moment go down to the grave.
Yet they say to God,

'Depart from us,
For we do not desire the
knowledge of Your ways.
Who is the Almighty, that we
should serve Him?
And what profit do we have if we
pray to Him?'

Indeed their prosperity is not in their hand;
The counsel of the wicked is far from me."
Job 21:7-16

ABSOLUTES - Adar I - 23, 5774

 PSALM 34

"I will bless the LORD at ALL times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make its boast in the LORD;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
Oh, magnify the LORD with me,
And let us exalt His name together.
I sought the LORD, and He heard me,
And delivered me from ALL my fears.
They looked to Him and were radiant,
And their faces were not ashamed.
This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him,
And saved him out of ALL his troubles.
The angel of the LORD encamps
ALL around those who fear Him,
And delivers them.
Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints!
There is NO WANT to those who fear Him.
The young lions lack and suffer hunger;
But those who seek the LORD
Shall NOT LACK ANY GOOD THING.
Come, you children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
Who is the man who desires life,
And loves many days, that
he may see good?
Keep your tongue from evil,
And your lips from speaking deceit.
Depart from evil and do good;
Seek peace and pursue it.
The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their cry.
The face of the LORD is against
those who do evil,
To cut off the remembrance of them
from the earth.
The righteous cry out,
and the LORD hears,
And delivers them out of ALL their troubles.
The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the LORD delivers him out of them ALL.
He guards ALL his bones;
NOT ONE of them is broken.
Evil shall slay the wicked,
And those who hate the righteous
shall be condemned.
The LORD redeems the soul of His servants,
And NONE of those who trust in
Him shall be condemned."

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and
just to forgive us our sins and
to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness."

'I will NEVER leave you NOR forsake you.'"

Awesome! - Adar I - 22, 5774

Make a joyful shout to God,
all the earth!
Sing out the honor of His name;
make His praise glorious.
Say to God,
'How awesome are Your works!
Through the greatness of Your power
Your enemies shall submit themselves to You.
All the earth shall worship You
and sing praises to You;
They shall  sing praises to Your name.'  Selah

The Rose - Adar I - 21, 5774

The wilderness and the wasteland
shall be glad for them,
And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose;
It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice,
even with joy and singing.
The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it,
The excellence of Carmel and Sharon.
They shall see the glory of the LORD,
The excellency of our God.
Isaiah 35:1-2

Precious Blood - Adar I - 20, 5774

 "Therefore gird up the loins of your mind,
be sober,
and rest your hope fully
upon the grace that is to be brought to you
at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
as obedient children,
not conforming yourselves to the former lusts,
as in your ignorance;
but as He who called you is holy,
you also be holy in all your conduct,
because it is written,
'Be holy, for I am holy.'
And if you call on the Father,
who without partiality judges
according to each one's work,
conduct yourselves throughout the time
of your stay here in fear;
knowing that you were not redeemed
with corruptible things, like silver or gold,
from your aimless conduct received
by tradition from your fathers;
but with the precious blood of Christ,
as of a lamb without blemish
and without spot."
I Peter 1:13-19

"Neither their silver nor their gold
shall be able to deliver them
in the day of the LORD'S wrath;"

"Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven,
'Now salvation, and strength,
and the kingdom of our God,
and the power of His Christ have come,
for the accuser of our brethren,
who accused them before our God
day and night,
has been cast down.
And they overcame him
by the blood of the Lamb and
by the word of their testimony,
and they did not love their lives to the death.'"

Looking Unto Jesus - Adar I - 19, 5774

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded
by so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us lay aside every weight,
and the sin which so easily ensnares us,
and let us run with endurance
the race that is set before us,
looking unto Jesus,
the author and finisher of our faith,
who for the joy that was set before Him
endured the cross, despising the shame,
and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:1-2

The Lord Upholds - Adar I - 18, 5774

"The steps of a good man are
ordered by the LORD,
and He delights in his way.
Though he fall,
he shall not be utterly cast down;
for the LORD upholds him with His hand."
Psalm 37:23-24

Skies Pour Down - Adar I - 17, 5774

"Rain down, you heavens, from above,
and let the skies pour down righteousness;
let the earth open,
let them bring forth salvation,
and let righteousness
spring up together.
I, the LORD have created it."
Isaiah 45:8

His Mighty Hand - Adar I - 16, 5774

"Therefore you shall love the LORD your God,
and keep His charge,
His statutes,
His judgments,
and His commandments always.
Know today that I do not speak
with your children,
who have not known and who have not seen
the chastening of the LORD your God,
His greatness and His mighty hand
and His outstretched arm -
His signs and His acts
which He did in the midst of Egypt,
to Pharaoh king of Egypt,
and to all his land;
what He did to the army of Egypt,
to their horses and their chariots:
how He made the waters of the Red Sea
overflow them as they pursued you,
and how the LORD has destroyed them to this day;
what He did for you in the wilderness
until you came to this place;
and what He did to Dathan and Abiram
the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben:
how the earth opened its mouth and
swallowed them up,
their households, their tents, and
all the substance that was in
their possession,
in the midst of all Israel -
but your eyes have seen
every great act of the LORD which He did.
Therefore you shall keep every commandment
which I command you today,
that you may be strong, and
go in and possess the land
which you cross over to possess,
and that you may prolong your days
in the land which the LORD
swore to give your fathers,
to them and their descendants,
a land flowing with milk and honey.
For the land which you cross over to possess
is not like the land of Egypt
from which you have come,
where you sowed your seed and
watered it by foot, as a vegetable garden;
but the land which you cross over to possess
is a land of hills and valleys,
which drinks water from the rain of heaven,
a land for which the LORD your God cares;
the eyes of the LORD your God
are always on it,
from the beginning of the year
to the very end of the year."
Deuteronomy 11:1-12

Not Afraid of Evil Tidings - Adar I - 15, 5774

 Psalm 112

"Praise the LORD!
Blessed is the man who fears the LORD,
who delights greatly in His commandments.
His descendants will be mighty on earth;
the generation of the upright will be blessed.
Wealth and riches will be in his house,
and his righteousness endures forever.
Unto the upright there arises
light in the darkness;
He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
A good man deals graciously and lends;
he will guide his affairs with discretion.
Surely he will never be shaken;
the righteous will be in
everlasting remembrance.
He will not be afraid of evil tidings;
his heart is steadfast,
trusting in the LORD.
His heart is established;
he will not be afraid,
until he sees his desire upon his enemies.
He has dispersed abroad,
he has given to the poor;
his righteousness endures forever;
his horn will be exalted with honor.
The wicked will see it and be grieved;
he will gnash his teeth and melt away;
the desire of the wicked shall perish."

The Lord Reigns - Adar I - 14, 5774

"The LORD reigns,
He is clothed with majesty;
the LORD is clothed,
He has girded Himself with strength.
Surely the world is established,
so that it cannot be moved.
Your throne is established from of old;
You are from everlasting.
The floods have lifted up, O LORD,
The floods have lifted up their voice;
The floods lift up their waves.
The LORD on high
is mightier than the noise of many waters,
than the mighty waves of the sea.
Your testimonies are very sure;
Holiness adorns Your house,
O LORD forever."
Psalm 93

My Soul Thirsts - Adar I - 13, 5774

"As the deer pants for the water brooks,
So pants my soul for You, O God.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When shall I come and appear before God?
My tears have been my food day and night,
While they continually say to me,
'Where is your God?'
When I remember these things,
I pour out my soul within me.
For I used to go with the multitude;
I went with them to the house of God,
With the voice of joy and praise,
With a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast.
Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him
For the help of His countenance."
Psalm 42:1-5

"'I Jesus, have sent My angel
to testify to you
these things in the churches.
I am the Root and the Offspring of David,
the Bright and Morning Star.'
And the Spirit and the bride say,
'Come!'
And let him who hears, say,
'Come!'
And let him who thirsts come.
Whoever desires,
let him take the water of life freely."

Things not Seen - Adar I - 12, 5774

"For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.  Therefore we do not lose heart.  Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.  For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.  For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal."

Pray - Adar I - 10, 5774

"And when you pray,
you shall not be like the hypocrites.
For they love to pray standing in the synagogues
and on the corners of the streets,
that they may be seen by men.
Assuredly, I say to you,
they have their reward.

But you, when you pray,
go into your room,
and when you have shut your door,
pray to your Father who is in the secret place;
and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

And when you pray,
do not use vain repetitions
as the heathen do.
For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

Therefore do not be like them.
For your Father knows the things
you have need of
before you ask Him.

In this manner, therefore, pray:

Our Father in heaven
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done on earth
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom
and the power and the glory
forever. Amen.

For if you forgive men their trespasses,
your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
But if you do not forgive men their trespasses,
neither will your Father
forgive your trespasses."

Matthew 6:5-15
